Easy Steps to Fax Your Document With Google Mail

If you have a document too large to email, then it may be time to fax. The only problem with faxing from your computer is that the recipient will not receive a copy of the document unless they also have a scanner and an internet connection. It would help if you also learned how to link a fax number with Google. Don’t worry if you are using Google Mail as your email provider! There are ways to send documents via fax without purchasing any additional equipment or software. Here’s how.

Open Up Google Mail

mailboxThe first step is to open up your Google Mail account. Once you have logged in, you will see several different options across the top of the screen. Click on “Compose.” It will take you to a new page to type in the recipient’s fax number and the subject line.

In the body of the email, you can either attach the document or paste the text of the paper into the body of the email. For example, you may need to resize an image to fit correctly on the screen.

Make Sure the File Formats Are Suitable

If you are attaching a document, you will need to make sure that it is in one of Google’s accepted file formats (.pdf, .docx, .pptx, etc.). If you are pasting the document’s text into the body of the email, there are no file size limitations. Google will automatically convert your file into a fax-friendly format that any standard fax machine or scanner can read. Depending on which type of device is receiving the message, you may have to edit some formatting.

Send Your Document

Once you have filled in all of the necessary fields, press “Send,” and your document will be on its way via fax! If you are not using Google Mail as your email provider but instead use Gmail or another service like Yahoo or AOL, there is still a way to get around this without paying for fax service. Google has a partnership with other email providers, including AOL and Yahoo, who will convert your document into a format sent via their servers for free. You may have to add in some additional information like the subject line, but after you do this, it should send out successfully from any of these services without paying for a fax machine or service.

If you have any documents that are too large to email, they may be time to send via fax instead. By following the above steps on how to attach your copy in Gmail and sending it out through Google’s servers or one of their partners like Yahoo!
